We skated at Trout Lake for the first time this year. Max enjoyed going around the rink as fast as he could.
I found this draft in my blog vault. Still think this is true, but I don’t really care anymore. Parenting as Performance has passed. I am conscious of the performance but I feel like a runaway train and I cannot do anything about it. I just try and live in a state of meditation and reflection. What am I doing. What are my kids actually doing. What are my kids thinking and how do they need help? I hope I don’t regret hitting the publish button on this blog.
“listening to some past early, mummy friends reflect and present their versions of themeselves while talking about their kids…. I realized that talking about your children is like dream theory. Everyone in the dream is “you” and everything that you say about your children is about “you”.”

Ok, so I kinda, don’t wanta write about this amazing event… but sometime in late June Colony Farm turns into a magical place with bird croquet, games, art and a tea-party with a drag queen. We loved it, but I don’t want to spread the word too much.

So the young man turned 6 and I feel like we passed into the world of KID. He is no longer a baby-preschooler but a full-on KID. Here we are at Granville Island where he had his party at the rec centre and then went to the waterpark. Part of me just screams and wants to find a blackhole where time stands still and he will always be a baby. However, learning and loving this boy keeps me going. He made me a mother and I will always be grateful.

Just got back from Frisbee and I am trying to unwind. I am breaking my own rule to stay away from the screen. Spring break is just hours away and I am looking forward to the 2 weeks of being off the clock. I am looking forward to stocking the freezer, sewing some projects and knitting while watching movies. Cannot wait.
I hope that warm weather is around the corner. Here’s some pics of the last snow fall. Poor tulips.
